England head coach Stuart Lancaster has hinted that Owen Farrell will start against New Zealand in their next autumn international.
Gloucester's Freddie Burns has been called up to the squad to replace the injured Toby Flood, but it appears that Farrell has done enough to earn a starting role.
"Owen has a lot of credit in the bank from what he achieved for us in the Six Nations. He had a long hard season and I don't think his form drifted off as dramatically as people made out. I know he has been a bit frustrated, he had a slow start to the season because of an injury," Lancaster told Sky Sports News.
"He has trained well. He looked comfortable and accomplished when he came on [against South Africa]. I have no problem with Owen whatsoever."
Farrell has nine caps for his country.
