Keith Wood has suggested that Warren Gatland and Eddie Jones should join forces to coach the British and Irish Lions next summer.
Wales coach Gatland guided the Lions to a famous triumph in Australia in 2013 and is expected to get the nod once more in New Zealand.
England boss Jones has also been tipped with taking charge following his impressive start to life with the Red Rose, meanwhile, despite previously ruling himself out of the running, and former Lions ace Wood believes that a compromise could be reached.
"We pick the best players, what's to stop us bringing the best coaches?" he told BBC Sport. "If these guys worked together, it would be pretty phenomenal.
"Eddie Jones says he doesn't want to go on the Lions, but if he went out there for three months as an assistant, is he willing to do that? Is [Ireland head coach] Joe Schmidt willing to do that?"
The Lions ended a 16-year wait for a series win by claiming victory over Australia three years ago.
