Kevin McDonald feels unwanted at Wolverhampton Wanderers

Kevin McDonald hits out at Wolverhampton Wanderers following the recent new contract that they offered the midfielder.

Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Kevin McDonald has accused the club of not having shown that 'they wanted to keep him'.

The Scot, who was reportedly the subject of a recent bid from Fulham, has just 12 months left to run on his contract at Molineux.

He has been offered an extension, but the 26-year-old has insisted that the terms placed in front of him did not indicate that he was considered to be a key member of the squad.

"Wolves offered me a contract which didn't really indicate to me they wanted to keep me, it was just like a basic increase," the Express & Star quotes McDonald as saying.

"It wasn't like they were pushing to keep me, fighting to keep me, that's the way it felt. That's gone now. We said we wouldn't be signing that contract. Negotiations are, hopefully, ongoing.

"I've told the manager, if the offer is right I'll sign but that's not been put down, but there's no indication that offer is going to be put down. It's a bit unsettling, not knowing where you are going to be."

McDonald joined Wolves from Sheffield United in 2013 for £750,000.
