Michael Kightly admits that struggling Wolverhampton Wanderers have not been good enough in the Premier League this season.

Michael Kightly has admitted that Wolverhampton Wanderers have not been good enough in the Premier League this season.

The Midlands club are now nine points from safety following Wednesday night's 3-0 defeat at home to Arsenal.

With relegation looking likely, Kightly believes that the club are deservedly at the bottom of the table.

"We just haven't been good enough this season," he said. "There are a million and one reasons probably why we haven't been good enough.

"It is a number of things. It is not for me to say. But, as a team and as a club, we haven't been good enough this year and we are all gutted about that."

Terry Connor's side travel to Sunderland in the league on Saturday.
