Former West Ham United striker Tony Cottee claims that the club need a major overhaul this summer.

Former West Ham United striker Tony Cottee has claimed that the club need a "complete and utter overhaul" at "every level" when the season comes to an end.

David Moyes's side are in danger of being relegated from the Premier League as they currently sit two points above the dropzone with eight games left to play.

The team will take on Southampton this weekend on the back of three defeats on the trot, as well as unsavoury scenes that ended with five supporters being handed lifetime bans.

A number of pitch invaders protesting against the club's board disrupted the Hammers' 3-0 defeat to Burnley at the London Stadium in their last competitive fixture.

While speaking about the situation to Sky Sports News, Cottee said: "There needs to be a complete and utter overhaul at the club, at probably every level. Can you do that now? I'm not so sure. There are eight games left. It is important that everybody sticks together, the fans, the players, the management.

"Everybody has to stick together at the club to try and get the results to stay in the Premier League and then at the end of the season everything needs to be sorted out, and I mean everything. There is a lot wrong at the club and they cannot afford to be relegated."

West Ham have won just seven of their 30 league games this season.
