West Ham United striker Carlton Cole eager for more points

Carlton Cole calls on his West Ham teammates to build on their 1-0 win over Burnley during the final weeks of the season.

West Ham United striker Carlton Cole has urged his teammates to finish the season as strongly as possible following their victory over Burnley.

The Hammers ended a four-game winless run in the Premier League on Saturday as they saw off the Clarets 1-0 at Upton Park.

The result saw West Ham beat their previous best points tally in the top flight since they earned promotion in 2012, but Cole is eager for the team to push on further during the final few weeks of the campaign.

"Put simply, we want to get as high as we can and try to get as many points as possible and get our personal goals ticked off," he told the club's official website. "We want to get the most amount of points that this team has ever got since promotion. We've now beaten our previous best of 46 points but now we need to get to the 50s."

West Ham are back in action this Saturday when they make the trip to struggling Aston Villa.
