Report: West Bromwich Albion give up on signing Queens Park Rangers' Steven Caulker

West Bromwich Albion reportedly decide against making a bid for Queens Park Rangers centre-back Steven Caulker.

Queens Park Rangers' valuation of Steven Caulker has reportedly deterred West Bromwich Albion from making a move for the defender.

West Brom are said to have approached QPR, but were put off by the West London side's price tag of around £8m, which is what they paid for the centre-back last year.

According to West London Sport, Albion also had a recent bid for R's winger Matt Phillips rejected.

Caulker, 23, who made 35 Premier League appearances as QPR were relegated last season, has previously said that he does not want to leave Loftus Road this summer.
