Les Ferdinand: 'Queens Park Rangers won't drop asking prices'

Queens Park Rangers director of football Les Ferdinand confirms that the club will not be looking to reduce asking prices for their key players.

Queens Park Rangers director of football Les Ferdinand has insisted that the club will not reduce their asking prices for Charlie Austin and Matt Phillips.

Austin has been linked with a host of Premier League sides after scoring 18 goals in the top flight last season, while Phillips has reportedly attracted the interest of West Bromwich Albion.

Ferdinand has confirmed that bids have been made for the players, but the West Londoners are not satisfied with them.

"We had an offer come in for Matty Phillips that was well below what we value him at, so we turned the offer down. We also had an offer for Charlie which, again, was not where we want it to be," Ferdinand told West London Sport.

"If they continue to offer that kind of money then I'll be pleased because we'll end up keeping the players. [Austin and Phillips] are aware of the situation. They're fine and are just getting on with what they've got to do.

"You're a professional for Queens Park Rangers at this moment in time. Until that changes I expect your professionalism in everything that you do – and so far they have been absolutely bang on."

It has been reported that QPR want at least £15m for Austin and £10m for Phillips.
