West Bromwich Albion boss Roy Hodgson has ruled out a swoop for Stuttgart striker Pavel Pogrebnyak.
Hodgson is keen to add to his attacking options and has been linked with a January move for the Russian.
The 28-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season, but the former Liverpool manager has said that there are no plans to make a move for the striker. Hodgson did admit that the Midlands club are open to the idea of signing a new forward.
"There will be no moves for Pogrebnyak," said Hodgson.
"It's not a frantic search - but we haven't switched off the phones, either!
"It would have to be very much the right type of player that could help us and not just someone who would come in and be another body to deal with."
Hodgson took over at the Hawthornes in 2011.
