Stoke City manager Tony Pulis has admitted that luck helped his team to end their disastrous away record against West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League.
Dean Whitehead's 75th-minute strike saw the Potters record their first victory on the road since a 2-1 win over Blackburn Rovers back in January.
"It's undoubtedly a huge monkey off of our back, having finally picked up those three points here today," said Pulis.
"We have performed a lot better on the road this season, but we have just needed that little bit of luck on the day to get us over the finishing line.
"Thankfully today, things went our way and we got the win we were all so desperate for."
Stoke have now moved into the top half of the Premier League.
