Mark Jenkins: 'West Bromwich Albion must learn from mistakes'

West Bromwich Albion chief executive Mark Jenkins says that the club must 'learn from the mistakes' which have led to the Baggies' relegation from the Premier League.

West Bromwich Albion chief executive Mark Jenkins has admitted that the club faces a busy summer off the pitch after relegation from the Premier League.

On Tuesday night, it was confirmed that the Baggies would spend next season in the Championship after a dismal campaign which has only improved since the introduction of caretaker boss Darren Moore.

The future of the youth coach remains unclear, but Jenkins has suggested that the club must focus on 'learning from the mistakes' which have been made in recent months.

Jenkins told the club's official website: "We have much to do this summer to get us in the right shape for our immediate target of making as swift a return as possible to the Premier League.

"Relegation stings us all but the hurt is all the more damaging if we do not learn from the mistakes which have brought us to this point. It is my task to ensure that happens."

Jenkins has previously claimed that West Brom do not have any funds available for the wages of new signings.
