West Bromwich Albion manager Roy Hodgson admitted that his pride was hurt after Wednesday's 4-0 defeat at Manchester City.
Two goals from Sergio Aguero, as well as strikes from Carlos Tevez and David Silva, saw the Blues ease to victory at the Etihad Stadium.
"It was always going to be a very tough ask but I'm disappointed to have lost by such a tough margin," Hodgson told Sky Sports News.
"I'm not sure if I've lost by more than 3-0 in my time here. I guess it's a major blow to my pride and my team's pride. We didn't have enough to hurt Manchester City."
The loss in Manchester was the Baggies' fourth defeat in six matches.
