West Bromwich Albion boss Steve Clarke is confident that Zoltan Gera will overcome his knee injury in time for pre-season training.

West Bromwich Albion boss Steve Clarke has claimed that midfielder Zoltan Gera should return to action for the start of pre-season training.

The 33-year-old, whose term at The Hawthorns has been blighted by injuries, was ruled out for the remainder of the season after damaging his knee earlier this month.

"Zoltan has had his operation, it went very well and his rehab starts this week," BBC Sport quotes Clarke as saying. "We would expect him to be up and running in time for pre-season training."

Gera joined the Baggies from Fulham in 2011.
