Dean Smith targets top-10 finish for Walsall

Walsall manager Dean Smith believes that his team are capable of a top-10 finish in League One after they thrashed Crawley Town 5-0 on Tuesday night.

Walsall manager Dean Smith has admitted that his side's 5-0 triumph over Crawley Town has provided him with hope of a top-10 finish in the League One table.

Their comprehensive victory on Tuesday night left the Saddlers just four points adrift of their target, and Smith believes that his team are capable of producing similar performances on a more consistent basis.

The 44-year-old is quoted by the Express & Star as saying: "That is what we are hoping for, what we are about and what we have played at times certainly over last season.

"It has not been consistent and that performance is what we need to move forward. We are only four points off 10th with a game in hand. The players want to get as high as they can and finish as high as they can in the league."

The West Midlands outfit are unbeaten in their last four games, while it has been 364 minutes since they last conceded a league goal.
