Wales want Craig Bellamy to succeed Chris Coleman?

Craig Bellamy reportedly emerges as a contender for the Welsh national job as Chris Coleman continues to be linked with the managerial vacancy at his former club Crystal Palace.

Cardiff City striker Craig Bellamy has been reported as a shock candidate to take over the Wales national job amid growing uncertainty regarding Chris Coleman.

The former Fulham boss, whose contract with the Dragons runs out in December, has been linked with succeeding Ian Holloway at Crystal Palace, the club he spent four years with as a player.

According to the Daily Mail, the Welsh FA are considering turning to the 34-year-old forward, who played his last international game in the 1-1 draw with Belgium to finish their World Cup qualifying campaign.

The same newspaper reports that Bellamy is planning to quit football altogether when the season comes to an end in May, bringing the curtain down on a 17-year career in the game.

Under Coleman's guidance, Wales finished fifth in Group A, three points ahead of bottom side Macedonia.
