Valencia 4-0 Sporting Gijon

Substitute Jonas scores twice as Valencia claim all three points from their home fixture with Sporting Gijon.

Jonas scored twice as Valencia recorded a comfortable victory over Sporting Gijon this evening.

Despite their dominance, hosting Valencia could only find one goal before the break. Algerian midfielder Sofiane Feghouli latched onto a cross from full-back Jeremy Mathieu to slot the ball into the bottom corner with 33 minutes played.

Valencia's second of the evening arrived in the 73rd minute when Botia diverted Feghouli's cross into his own net.

Substitute Jonas claimed his first of the night in the 90th minute, before converting a cross from Roberto Soldado in the second minute of stoppage time to wrap up the win.
