Alvaro Negredo undergoes appendix surgery

Valencia striker Alvaro Negredo undergoes emergency appendix surgery, which is expected to keep him on the sidelines until early 2016.

Valencia striker Alvaro Negredo will be unavailable for selection until 2016 after undergoing appendix surgery on Tuesday.

The Spanish international, who has struggled for football in recent weeks after falling out with Los Che head coach Nuno, is not expected to return to training until January following the operation.

According to AS, Negredo complained of a stomach problem on Monday and the 30-year-old was later admitted to hospital, where the appendicitis was discovered.

Negredo has not featured for his Spanish club since the start of October due to his strained relationship with Nuno, who the forward criticised earlier in the season.
