Torino extend unbeaten run with draw at Sassuolo

Torino make it four games unbeaten in Serie A with a 1-1 draw at Sassuolo.

Torino have extended their unbeaten run in Serie A to four matches thanks to a 1-1 draw at Sassuolo.

A lively start to the match saw Marco Benassi's fierce strike pushed away by Andrea Consigli, before the visitors came close again when Joseph Martinez's flashed a shot inches wide.

Consigli was called into action again midway through the opening half as Torino dictated play, this time keeping out Fabio Quagliarella's effort.

Despite being under pressure for much of the first half, Sassuolo took the lead in stoppage time when Domenico Berardi scored from the penalty spot after Floro Flores went down softly under a challenge in the box.

After a lack of action during the start of the second half, Torino got themselves level with an hour played as Quagliarella converted a penalty following Flores's contentious foul on Kamil Glik.

Torino almost took the lead moments later, but this time Maxi Lopez's ferocious shot was clawed away by Consigli.

Sassuolo offered little in the way of attacking intent as the clock ticked down and they were almost made to pay with a couple of minutes left as Quagliarella was denied by Consigli.
