Alexander Farnerud came close to opening the scoring for the hosts, but his powerful free kick came crashing back off the bar.

Genoa provided little threat in the first half, but they took the lead three minutes before the break when Iago Falque drilled a low strike into the bottom corner.

Within seven minutes of the second half, Glik equalised for the Granata, as he arrived unmarked at the back post to touch in Farnerud's free kick.

Glik scored his second of the game eleven minutes later when he nodded in from point-blank range, after Emiliano Moretti's header had been saved.
