Report: Swansea City to resist Bafetimbi Gomis offers

Swansea City will reportedly not encourage any offers for striker Bafetimbi Gomis this summer.

There is said to be a £7m release clause in the Frenchman's contract, but Swansea are hoping that it is not activated and that he will stay, according to PA.

Gomis joined Swansea from Lyon on a free transfer last summer and had to spend the first half of last season in Wilfried Bony's shadow before the Ivorian's switch to Manchester City.

He went on to finish with 10 goals in all competitions, and Swans boss Garry Monk said in May that he did want to keep the striker.

This summer, Monk has signed Andre Ayew and Eder to provide competition in attack.
