Everton became just the third side to beat Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium this season with a 2-0 victory over the Welsh outfit this afternoon.

After an uneventful and goalless first period, Everton began to take control as Darron Gibson forced a good save from Michel Vorm before Nikica Jelavic fired over with an overhead kick.

Leighton Baines then put the Toffess ahead with a precise 20-yard free kick on the hour mark.

More chances followed for David Moyes's side but Jelavic and Steven Pienaar both shot off target from good positions.

Croatian striker Jelavic was presented with another opportunity 15 minutes from time and this time took it.

The January signing from Rangers converted Marouane Fellaini's cross from six yards to secure the points with his second Premier League goal.
