Lee Cattermole poised for Sunderland exit?

Sunderland manager Paolo Di Canio is reportedly prepared to allow skipper Lee Cattermole to leave this summer for £2m.

Sunderland are prepared to allow captain Lee Cattermole to leave this summer, according to a report.

The Black Cats skipper struggled to see the field last season due to a number of injury problems as his side barely escaped relegation to the Championship.

Manager Paolo Di Canio is looking to rebuild his team and does not feel that the 25-year-old will feature in his plans next season, so is willing to sell him for as little as £2m.

Cattermole's former boss at Sunderland and Wigan Athletic, Steve Bruce, is eying reunion with his former player at Hull City, while Fulham also have an interest, according to The Mirror.

The former Middlesbrough man has made 87 appearances for the Black Cats since joining the club in 2009.
