Paulo Di Canio praises Sunderland forward Stephane Sessegnon after his second goal in a week earned them an important win over Everton.

Sunderland manager Paulo Di Canio has praised forward Stephane Sessegnon after he scored the winner against Everton yesterday.

The Black Cats won 1-0 to move six points clear of the Premier League relegation zone.

Sessegnon scored his second goal in a week for Sunderland during the game and Di Canio praised the work of his strikers.

"The little one [Sessegnon] is big," Di Canio told the Shields Gazaette. "We all know he is capable of scoring a goal like that.

"I want to point attention to the job they did once again up front. Both Stephane and Danny [Graham], they left all their energy on the ground, and then obviously the goal made all the difference."

Sunderland's next game is against fellow relegation candidates Aston Villa next week.
