Report: Sunderland never considered signing Moussa Sow

Senegal striker Moussa Sow was reportedly never on the radar of Sunderland, despite the player claiming that the Black Cats had made a move for him.

Sunderland did not consider a move for Senegal striker Moussa Sow during the summer transfer window, according to reports.

The 29-year-old, who eventually agreed a deal to join United Arab Emirates club Al Alhi from Fenerbahce, claimed that the Black Cats made a bid for him, but he turned it down.

The Sunderland Echo, however, claims that club sporting director Lee Congerton was never interested in signing the Senegal striker and instead brought in Fabio Borini from Liverpool.

Sow was also said to be on the radar of West Ham United.
