Steven N'Zonzi eyes revenge over Southampton in League Cup

Stoke midfielder Steven N'Zonzi admits that he wants revenge over Southampton when the teams meet on Wednesday night in the fourth round of the League Cup.

Stoke City midfielder Steven N'Zonzi has admitted that he is eager for revenge over Southampton when the teams meet in the League Cup on Wednesday night.

The Potters were beaten 1-0 by the Saints in the Premier League on Saturday as Sadio Mane's goal made the difference at St Mary's Stadium.

However, with Southampton travelling to the Britannia Stadium in the fourth round of the League Cup tomorrow, N'Zonzi is hopeful that Stoke can make amends and book their place in the fifth round.

"To lose was very disappointing but we will stay strong and get focused for Wednesday now," he told the club's official website. "Every game away from home is difficult and Saturday was no different.

"They're a good side but we know that we have good players too. I'm sure that we'll improve as the season goes on and get better and better. Like last season I hope that we are going to improve as the season goes on."

N'Zonzi has made 10 appearances in all competitions for Stoke so far this season.
