Scottish League One roundup: Leaders Stranraer suffer shock home defeat

Sports Mole rounds up Saturday's Scottish League One action as league leaders Stranraer slip up in the race for promotion by losing 2-0 to Stenhousemuir.

Stirling Albion were denied just a second win of the Scottish League One season by a dramatic 4-3 reverse at the hands of Greenock Morton this afternoon.

The division's bottom-placed side held a 3-1 lead heading into the final 15 minutes, but were unable to see the game out as Declan McManus's brace helped the visitors claim all three points.

Elsewhere, league leaders Stranraer suffered a shock 2-0 defeat against lowly Stenhousemuir at Stair Park.

Goals from Tom Walsh and Colin McMenamin in either half helped wrap up the victory for the Warriors, who are now level on points with Ayr United in eighth place.

Mark Roberts's Ayr side fell 3-0 at Airdrieonians, with Paul Slane's red card 20 minutes from time rounding off a bad day for the Honest Men.

Bad weather saw Brechin's meeting with Dunfermline called off, as was Peterhead against Forfar.

Full results: Aidrieonians 3-0 Ayr United, Stirling Albion 3-4 Greenock Morton, Stranraer 0-2 Stenhousemuir
