Tottenham Hotspur supremo Daniel Levy is so determined to keep Harry Kane that he has slapped a £250m price tag on the striker, according to a report.

Tottenham Hotspur supremo Daniel Levy has reportedly slapped a £250m price tag on Harry Kane to combat any potential suitors in the summer.

The England captain had spoken of wanting to win team silverware this season, sparking rumours that he could be set for a move away from North London - rumours which were exacerbated by Spurs' shock defeat to Colchester United in the EFL Cup on Tuesday.

According to The Telegraph, Levy is so determined to hold onto Kane, even if Tottenham end the season without a trophy again, that he has set such a high price on his services.

A fee of £250m would comfortably make Kane the world's most expensive player and as Levy hopes, would deter the likes of Manchester City, Real Madrid and Barcelona from trying to sign him.

The report also suggests that Levy's determination to hold onto the striker, who is contracted to Spurs until 2024, was increased by the fact that Jan Vertonghen, Christian Eriksen and Toby Alderweireld are all free to leave the club at the end of this season having entered the final year of their deals.

Although Kane did not feature against Colchester, he has already scored nine goals in nine games for club and country this season.
