Tottenham Hotspur team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Aston Villa

Sports Mole rounds up all of Tottenham Hotspur's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Sunday's Premier League clash with Aston Villa.

With the chance to put their Champions League destiny back in their own hands, Tottenham Hotspur head north for a crucial Premier League date with Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon.

Ange Postecoglou's side produced another home fightback to overcome Crystal Palace 3-1 last weekend, where Timo Werner, Cristian Romero and Son Heung-min rendered Eberechi Eze's stunning free kick meaningless.

The Lilywhites make the trek to Villa Park with a five-point gap to make up to Unai Emery's side, but they still have a game in hand and will officially be back in control of a place in the top four with all three points in the West Midlands.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Tottenham's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the clash with Villa, who eked out a 3-2 success over Luton Town last time out.

Richarlison

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Prior to the beating of Palace, Postecoglou revealed that Richarlison could miss up to three weeks with a knee injury, but the striker told ESPN Brasil after that clash with the Eagles that he was already training again and could make an unexpectedly quick recovery for the weekend. However, the striker has now been ruled out by his manager.

Pedro Porro

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Strain
Possible return date: March 10 (vs. Aston Villa)

Pedro Porro failed to recover from a strain injury in time for the beating of Palace, but the right-back has trained all week and is expected to make his comeback at Villa Park.

Fraser Forster

Fraser Forster was revealed to have suffered a foot fracture last month, and Spurs' second-choice goalkeeper will not be back in action for a couple of months.

Manor Solomon

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Knee victim Manor Solomon has now had to undergo a pair of operations on his serious knee injury, and Postecoglou cannot say when the Israeli winger might be available again.

Ryan Sessegnon

Possible return date: Unknown

Ryan Sessegnon was forced to wait until January for his first appearance of the season due to a hamstring problem, and the Englishman has now cruelly suffered a similar injury to his other leg, which could rule him out for the rest of the season.
