Sebastian Bassong fired up for Tottenham Hotspur clash

Norwich City Sebastian Bassong hopes that Tottenham Hotspur's new signings have not had enough time to gel before today's Premier League clash at White Hart Lane.

Norwich City defender Sebastian Bassong has said that the Canaries will be up for the fight against Tottenham Hotspur this afternoon.

The 27-year-old, who spent three years at White Hart Lane player before moving to Carrow Road last summer, acknowledged that Spurs are favourites heading into the match.

However, he is hoping that their new signings have not fully adjusted to life in the Premier League.

"Everything says Spurs are a better team than us, which is true, but we will work hard and see what comes," Sky Sports News quotes Bassong as saying.

"They've been busy in the summer and bought some good players. I hope they'll not be ready, but even if they are we will give them a good challenge."

One of those new arrivals was Spanish striker Roberto Soldado, who signed from Valencia for £26m.

Bassong said that he has seen a lot of the 28-year-old and is wary of the threat that he possesses.

"I've seen Soldado," he added. "I watch a lot of Spanish football. He's a goal-scorer, a real threat in the box and we will have to be careful."

Bassong spent a year on loan at Wolverhampton Wanderers during his three years as a Spurs player.
