Southampton have reportedly earmarked Malky Mackay as their next manager should Mauricio Pochettino depart this summer.
The Saints boss has been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur after an impressive campaign that saw him lead the South Coast club to eighth in the Premier League.
Should the former Espanyol coach depart St Mary's this summer, then Southampton will approach former Cardiff City boss Mackay, according to The Mirror.
The Scot has been out of work since he was sacked as Bluebirds boss at the end of December.
