Jack Stephens is handed a place on the bench as Southampton host Bournemouth this afternoon.

The 24-year-old returns to contention having served a three-match ban but does not make a starting XI that shows two changes from the FA Cup semi-final defeat to Chelsea last Sunday.

Dusan Tadic and Nathan Redmond are involved from the off, at the expense of the benched Shane Long and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

The visiting Cherries also make two changes from their last fixture, a 2-0 league loss to Manchester United a week-and-a-half ago.

Lys Mousset and Dan Gosling come in for Jordon Ibe and Andrew Surman as Eddie Howe's side try to avoid a third top-flight loss on the trot.

Southampton: McCarthy; Soares, Yoshida, Hoedt, Bertrand; Romeu, Lemina, Bednarek, Tadic; Austin, Redmond

Bournemouth: Begovic; Francis, Cook, Ake, Daniels; Gosling, Cook, Fraser, Mousset; King, Wilson
