Mauricio Pochettino: 'We dominated second half'

Mauricio Pochettino says that he was pleased with Southampton's second-half performance in their 1-1 draw with Newcastle United.

Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino has said that Southampton "dominated" the second half of his side's 1-1 draw with Newcastle United this afternoon.

Jay Rodriguez levelled in the second period for the Saints after Yoann Gouffran had given the home side a 27th-minute lead, and Pochettino was pleased with his side's performance following the break.

"The two halves were completely different," Pochettino told BBC Sport.

"Both teams could have gone ahead in the first half. Both teams controlled periods. In the second half we dominated Newcastle."

The draw leaves Southampton in eighth place in the Premier League table.
