Sheffield Wednesday chairman Milan Mandaric has insisted that he wants Jermaine Johnson to sign a new contract with the club.
The Jamaican, who is currently with his international side, sees his current deal expire at the end of next month, but Mandaric wants the winger to commit his future to the club.
He told the Sheffield Star: "I am very fond of JJ. We are trying to keep him with us; I think he will be okay."
It is understood that a one-year offer is currently on the table.
