Sheffield Wednesday boss Dave Jones hints that he could return for Sunderland striker Connor Wickham this summer.

Sheffield Wednesday boss Dave Jones has revealed that he would be interested in taking Sunderland's Connor Wickham on loan for the second time this summer.

The England Under-21 striker spent a short spell with the club last season, but he has begun pre-season with the Black Cats.

Jones told the Sheffield Star: "I'm sure their new manager will want to have a look at what Connor has got.

"It is something we would be interested in if it came around, but it is far too early to even contemplate it at the moment."

It is believed that the 20-year-old is not part of Sunderland boss Paolo di Canio's plans in the new campaign.
