Scotland midfielder Liam Bridcutt has revealed his disappointment that his debut ended in defeat but is hopeful he will be better player as a result of the experience.
Gordon Strachan's side lost their fourth game of their qualifying campaign as they succumbed to a 2-0 defeat to Serbia.
Bridcutt told Sky Sports News: "It was very disappointing obviously, we were in the game up until the goals. There were a few mistakes but it's something we have got to learn from and move on from.
"This is a great learning curve for me. You always want to progress in your career and the only way you are going to progress is playing games like this."
Scotland are next in competitive action against Croatia in June.
