Rudi Garcia's Roma side have scored twice in the opening period of their clash against Bayer Leverkusen.
Mohamed Salah put Roma ahead after just two minutes, as he latched on to Edin Dzeko's through-ball from the halfway line before shooting past Bayer keeper Bernd Leno.
Leno almost put his team further behind moments later as his clearance rebounded off Dzeko, going narrowly wide.
Javier Hernandez had the opportunity to bring his side level in the 14th minute but he was unable to direct his header on target from Hakan Calhanoglu's free kick.
Roma once again broke beyond the Leverkusen defence in the 29th minute as Radja Nainggolan's pass found Dzeko, who slid his effort past Leno to double the advantage for Garcia's side.
The Bosnian striker missed to chance to put Roma three nil up moments later, firing wide from close range after being found by Salah's cross.
Hernandez had another chance at goal minutes before the end of the half as he raced into the box to meet a cross, but his volley was dealt with by on-loan Arsenal keeper Wojciech Szczesny.
