Luka Modric "happy" at Real Madrid

Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric has revealed that his happiness is the key to his impressive form this season.

The 28-year-old struggled in the early part of last season, but has emerged into an important player for the Spanish outfit over the last 12 months.

"I'm playing well because I am happy and I am content. I was happy in England and it showed in my game. Now I am in Madrid and it also shows," he told reporters at a press conference.

Modric is currently on international duty with Croatia, who are preparing to face Iceland in the World Cup playoffs.
