Luka Modric lavishes praise on Cristiano Ronaldo

Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric believes that Cristiano Ronaldo is already a club legend.

Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric believes that Cristiano Ronaldo should be regarded alongside the likes of Alfredo Di Stefano and Ferenc Puskas.

Modric, who was questioned on the Spanish club's former players, also mentioned the Portuguese in the same breath as Zinedine Zidane and Raul.

"There are so many great players who have played for Real Madrid," Modric told Bwin.com.

"Looking back, there were Di Stefano and Puskas. More recently, Madrid had Raul and Zidane, one of our coaches. And then there's Cristiano, who is the past, present and future of this team."

Ronaldo has scored 221 goals in 214 games for Madrid.
