Real Madrid remain unbeaten in La Liga

Real Madrid remain unbeaten in La Liga with a 3-1 win over Getafe at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Real Madrid have defeated Getafe 4-1 at the Santiago Bernabeu to remain unbeaten after five games in La Liga.

Los Blancos were stunned early on as Luis Garcia Plaza's men went 1-0 ahead through Angel Lafita, but goals from Pepe, Cristiano Ronaldo and Isco saw the home side overcome their local rivals.

The win sees Carlo Ancelotti's men go third in the table, two points behind Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, who have both won five out of five.

Visitors Getafe took the lead in the fifth minute of the game when Lafita's effort took a deflection off Pepe, taking it beyond the reach of Diego Lopez.

Madrid drew level in the 20th minute, with Pepe quickest to react after Miguel Angel Moya had saved a shot from Ronaldo, and they were given the opportunity to take the lead when the referee pointed to the spot just after the half-hour mark.

Michel was adjudged to have handled the ball inside the area, which allowed Ronaldo to step up and fire his team into the lead.

Quick thinking from Ronaldo caught Getafe napping at the back, as he slipped Isco in from a wide position and the Spanish international produced a quality finish.

A foul on Jese as he was clean through saw Michel receive a straight red card five minutes from the end, although by then the writing was well and truly on the wall.

The Portuguese winger then capped off the scoring with the last kick of the game with a cheeky finish to further close on Ferenc Puskas's goalscoring record.
