Queens Park Rangers reportedly agree a deal in principle with Real Madrid to sign defender Ricardo Carvalho on a season-long loan.

Queens Park Rangers have reportedly agreed in principle to take Real Madrid defender Ricardo Carvalho on a season-long loan.

The former Chelsea centre-back had been previously linked with a possible exit from the Bernabeu after manager Jose Mourinho omitted the Portugal international from his pre-season squad travelling to the United States.

It is believed that the 34-year-old will return to the Premier League after QPR expressed an interest in signing the defender on a temporary basis, according to Sky Sports News.

Reports have claimed that the Spanish champions are willing to let Carvalho move to Loftus Road, which was home to QPR's opening day 5-0 defeat to Swansea City.
