Radamel Falcao plays down Real Madrid switch

Monaco hitman Radamel Falcao refutes speculation linking him with a big-money loan switch to Real Madrid.

Radamel Falcao has played down suggestions that Real Madrid have contacted AS Monaco over a prospective summer switch.

Speculation has mounted that the La Liga giants are eager to follow up their £63m capture of James Rodriguez by luring his Colombia teammate to the Spanish capital.

The Blancos are reportedly prepared to pay £10m for a season-long loan, with the option to make the move permanent next year, but the player himself says that nothing is in the pipeline.

"I still have a contract with Monaco," he told Sic. "I know nothing about proposals from other teams."

Falcao, who is contracted to the principality outfit until 2018, has endured an injury-blighted year after suffering knee ligament damage back in January and missed Colombia's World Cup campaign.
