Sevilla midfielder Vitolo has leapt to the defence of under-fire Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas.
The long-serving stopper faced criticism for his performances during the 2014 World Cup, but showed signs of his best form for his club towards the tail end of last year.
The criticism has returned in recent weeks, but Vitolo, who is in the Spain squad for the first time, has insisted that "no-one can doubt Casillas".
"No-one can doubt Casillas. He is the captain of this team that has won a World Cup and two European Championships. Maybe your club may be going through bad times, but I do not doubt him," Vitolo told reporters.
Spain are in Euro 2016 qualification action against Ukraine on Friday.
