Carlo Ancelotti: 'Luka Modric will return against Schalke 04'

Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric will return from a thigh injury in Tuesday's Champions League last-16 second leg against Schalke 04.

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has revealed that Luka Modric will return from injury in Tuesday's Champions League last-16 second leg at home to Schalke 04.

Modric has been on the sidelines since last November with a thigh problem that he suffered while representing Croatia.

However, the midfielder has recently returned to first-team training and will be given a run-out in the second half of the European clash.

"Modric will start on the bench. I'll give him a 30-minute run-out in the second half," Ancelotti told reporters.

Real Madrid lead Schalke 2-0 from the first leg, which took place in the middle of last month.
