Rangers comes from behind to see off Queen of the South

Rangers twice come from behind to defeat Queen of the South 4-2 at Ibrox.

Rangers twice came from behind against Queen of the South in the Scottish Championship to win 4-2 and keep up the pressure on leaders Hearts.

Ally McCoist's side started brightly and looked dangerous from set pieces, but fell behind against the run of play in the 22nd minute.

Daniel Carmichael opened up the Gers defence with a square pass from the left channel and Gavin Reilly provided the finish to put the visitors in front.

The home side drew level in the 27th minute following a corner. Visiting goalkeeper Zander Clark parried the ball into the path of Marius Zaliukas, and his header from 10 yards found the net.

However, it was Zaliukas who was at fault when Queen of the South took the lead for the second time, with the Lithuanian giving the ball away in his own half, allowing Reilly to play in Iain Russell to beat Steve Simonsen from close range.

Rangers drew level straight after the restart through substitute David Templeton, who smashed in a strike from 20 yards out with virtually his first touch of the ball.

McCoist's men looked more solid in the second half, and they took the lead for the first time just after the hour mark as Bilel Mohsni headed in Nicky Law's in-swinging corner to make it 3-2.

The hosts dominated the second period, and they put the result beyond any doubt through another substitute, Kenny Miller, who rifled home from the centre of the box after being set up by Kris Boyd.
