Rangers have confirmed that they have received an approach from Phoenix Suns majority owner Robert Sarver, who could submit an offer for the Scottish club.

The Gers confirmed in a statement to the Stock Exchange that the American NBA team owner has expressed an interest in the Scottish Championship outfit.

The statement reads that a formal offer will need to be tabled to Rangers before the 5pm deadline on February 2.

On Christmas Eve, Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley was denied by the Scottish Football Association to increase his 9% share in Rangers to 29.9%.
