Kyle Lafferty: 'I have calmed down a lot since first Rangers stint'

Kyle Lafferty insists that he has "calmed down a lot" since his first spell at Rangers and is eager to give boss Steven Gerrard and the fans what they expect.

Kyle Lafferty has stressed that he has "calmed down a lot" since his first spell at Rangers and is eager to give boss Steven Gerrard and the fans what they expect.

The 30-year-old is back at Ibrox for a second spell, having had a successful stint at the club between 2008 and 2012 in which he scored 38 goals in 138 appearances.

Having been away from Rangers for the last six years, including spells in Switzerland, Italy and England, Lafferty feels that Gers fans will see a new side to his game.

"I know how to win and I want to win," Lafferty, who left Hearts to rejoin Gers, told the official club website. "Every single game, no matter who it is against, I want to walk off that pitch with the three points or progress in a competition.

"Over the last year I have scored some important goals for Hearts but I like to say I play well in every game to be honest! I score big goals and I think I have done that my entire career but throughout the whole squad there are goals everywhere and that is the most important thing.

"I have calmed down a lot since I left here. I have let my football do the talking rather than being the joker. I still enjoy a joke and I think you need to have that personality in the dressing room. But now when I cross that white line I will do what the fans expect and what the gaffer expects. I will know what I need to give."

Lafferty won three Scottish Premiership titles, two League Cups and a Scottish Cup during his previous spell at Rangers.
