Chris Ramsey frustrated by "lapse of concentration" from Queens Park Rangers

Chris Ramsey fails to hide his disappointment following Queens Park Rangers's defeat to Liverpool, which leaves them seven points from Premier League safety.

Queens Park Rangers manager Chris Ramsey has conceded that his side now face a "monumental task" in their battle to avoid a return to the Championship.

The Hoops were undone by a late Steven Gerrard goal in a 2-1 reverse at Liverpool this afternoon, leaving them seven points from safety in the relegation zone.

QPR could now be relegated as soon as next weekend should results go against them, and Ramsey admits that his players' inability to see games through has come back to haunt them too many times this season.

"We have got an absolutely monumental task but we came here and played against one of the best teams in the league and did well," he is quoted as saying by Goal.com.

"Unfortunately for us, when we start getting into 80 minutes-plus, we tend to throw points away. We have done that on numerous occasions this season and then the performances go for nothing.

"That little lapse of concentration means we haven't taken anything from the game. We have done well against the top teams, but you aren't at the bottom of the table for any other reason other than those small details and that has happened too much."

Rangers take on soon-to-be former champions Manchester City in their next league outing.
