Queens Park Rangers manager Mark Hughes has said that he will hold talks with Rob Green as the club moves closer to signing Julio Cesar.

Green moved to Loftus Road from West Ham United earlier on this summer but has endured a torrid start to his career with the Hoops, including conceding five goals on the opening weekend to Swansea City.

The club is also on the verge of capturing Inter Milan goalkeeper Julio Cesar, which would likely see Green lose his number one spot as a result. However, Hughes says that he will sit down with Green in the near future.

"I haven't had a chance to really talk to him about it," Hughes said.

"Obviously I was concerned with the preparation for the game, but certainly I will sit down with Rob and go through it.

"It is a challenge for everybody. What we're trying to do here is improve the quality of the group and that includes the goalkeeping position as well. I said I wanted to have two quality keepers this window if at all possible. Sometimes when opportunities present itself you want to pursue them."

QPR travel to Manchester City on Saturday.
