Paris Saint-Germain reportedly make a late bid of €70m (£60.5m) for Inter Milan centre-back Milan Skriniar, who is out of contract next summer.

Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly approached Inter Milan with an offer of €70m (£60.5m) for centre-back Milan Skriniar.

The Ligue 1 champions have been attempting to strike a deal for the Slovakia international all summer long but had seemingly given up hope of a deal.

Instead, Christophe Galtier's side moved to sign Nordi Mukiele from RB Leipzig, with the Frenchman competing with Sergio Ramos, Marquinhos and Presnel Kimpembe at the back.

Inter have remained defiant in their stance that Skriniar is not for sale this summer, but the Nerazzurri are running the risk of seeing the 27-year-old leave for free in 2023.

Skriniar has now entered the final year of his contract with Simone Inzaghi's side, and according to French outlet RMC Sport, PSG have tested Inter's resolve once again.

The outlet claims that an offer of €70m (£60.5m) has been tabled for Skriniar's services, and those within the PSG camp are confident of striking a deal for that price.

While Inter are still determined to rebuff any late offers for the former Sampdoria man, PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has taken it upon himself to try to get a deal over the line.

Since arriving in a £30.6m deal five years ago, Skriniar has pulled on the Nerazzurri shirt on 219 occasions in all competitions, coming up with 11 goals and four assists in that time.

The Slovakia international was an integral cog in Antonio Conte's Scudetto-winning side of 2020-21, which was his first trophy at the club before clinching the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana last term.

Skriniar has started all four of Inter's Serie A games so far this season amid the speculation surrounding his future, but PSG are running out of time to wrap up a deal for the 6ft 2in defender.

New manager Galtier and football advisor Luis Campos have largely focused on midfield and attacking incomings so far this summer, bringing in Vitinha, Fabian Ruiz, Hugo Ekitike, and Renato Sanches.

Les Parisiens have allowed defender Thilo Kehrer to leave the club for West Ham United in a £10.8m deal, and fellow centre-back Abdou Diallo is understood to be heading to RB Leipzig.

Kehrer and Diallo's exits would open up space in the squad for Skriniar to join, and PSG are also hopeful of offloading Layvin Kurzawa, Mauro Icardi, Idrissa Gueye and Julian Draxler before the transfer deadline.

Former Everton man Gueye is now understood to be on the verge of completing a switch back to Goodison Park, where he will be joined by Manchester United midfielder James Garner.
