Paris Saint-Germain thrash sorry Sochaux

Paris Saint-Germain hit five against Sochaux in Ligue 1.

Paris Saint-Germain have bounced back from their first league defeat of the season with a comprehensive 5-0 win over Sochaux in Ligue 1.

The hosts were utterly dominant in the first period, with chances falling to Blaise Matuidi, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Edinson Cavani before they finally took the lead.

PSG stormed ahead in the 14th minute when Thiago Silva lashed home a cross from Ibrahimovic, firing into the bottom corner from inside the six-yard box.

Further goalscoring opportunities fell to Thiago Motta, Cavani and Ibrahimovic as Laurent Blanc's side remained on top right up to the half-time whistle.

They doubled their advantage immediately after the break when Ezequiel Lavezzi side-footed home from inside the box after being lined up by Motta.

Cavani added another to PSG's tally just after the hour mark when he turned in a cross by Ibrahimovic, but the French champions still weren't finished.

Ibrahimovic capped off the deserved victory four minutes from time, bundling the ball home after a free kick had caused chaos in the Sochaux box, before adding a fifth in stoppage time.
